Sometimes we struggle with slow or broken repository.
First make sure that the yum-fastestmirror plugin is enabled.
Then clear cache with:
yum clean plugins
If still slow/broken mirror is shown as active then disable it in /etc/yum/pluginconf.d:
exclude = your.broken.mirror.com
